Port Panama City maintains a comprehensive emergency management plan for a wide range of events, including hurricanes and tropical storms. We work closely with local, state and federal emergency management officials, including the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Mobile, Alabama.

When the U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port places Hurricane Port Condition ZULU on Port Panama City, we follow our Hurricane Contingency Plan for an orderly method of shutting down and securing port equipment and facilities in advance of the storm. We also follow our Hurricane Contingency Plan for the safe reopening of the port when the storm passes.
